BIG MACHINE RECORDS SIGNS EDENS EDGE

Client:
Edens Edge
NASHVILLE, TN --   Big Machine Records is proud to announce the addition of Country trio Edens Edge to its label family.

"Every once in a great while an act comes out of nowhere and knocks you flat out.  This moment for me happened at the NSAI Awards back in the fall,” says Scott Borchetta, President & CEO of Big Machine Records. “Edens Edge came out on stage practically unannounced to honor Barbara Mandrell and Hall of Fame songwriter Kye Fleming and destroyed the room.  In that moment we had no idea who they were... By the end of the first song my VP of A&R was hot after it... Today I am extremely proud and excited that Edens Edge is part of the Big Machine!"

"We are so excited to be a part of the Big Machine Family,” says Dean Berner of Edens Edge. “We knew from the first time we met Scott (Borchetta) and the Big Machine team that this was the home for us.”

Comprised of Hannah Blaylock (lead vocalist), Dean Berner (harmony vocals, guitar, dobro) and Cherrill Green (harmony vocals, mandolin, banjo, and guitar), Edens Edge composes a unique musical blend deeply rooted in Country and Bluegrass.

Growing up about an hour from each other in Arkansas the members of Edens Edge never met until they were introduced through mutual friends in college. After entering the CMT/ NSAI Songwriters Contest in 2006, the band was discovered by Kye Fleming who helped further develop the group¹s writing and artistic talents.

In recent months the trio has opened for such Country stars as Ronnie Milsap and Randy Travis and will be opening for the likes of Lady Antebellum, LoneStar and Gloriana on the road this summer. Edens Edge is managed by  Heather Moody, President of TVX Group Nashville.  With the creative direction of Kye Fleming Publishing, the trio is currently writing and recording their Big Machine Records debut.

ABOUT BIG MACHINE RECORDS

Scott Borchetta founded independent label Big Machine Records in September 2005 and serves as its President/CEO.  In its first year Big Machine scored its first #1 single (Jack Ingram¹s “Wherever You Are”), placed five singles in the Country Top 30, received a nomination for Record Label of the Year, and placed all three of the label¹s three new artist releases in the Top 10 Most-Played New Artists of 2006 (as monitored by Mediabase and reported by
USA Today and Country Aircheck).

Big Machine¹s signature artist Taylor Swift (the CMA and AP’s reigning Entertainer of the Year and the American Music Awards’ 2009 Artist of the Year) was the best-selling all-genre artist of 2008 and her current album, Fearless, repeated her success when it became 2009¹s highest-selling album of the year across all genres. Fearless is the most awarded Country album in history -- having won the GRAMMY’s 2010 Album of the Year and the Country Music Association, Academy of Country Music and American Music Awards’ 2009 Country Album of the Year – and has spent more weeks at #1 atop the Billboard Top Album chart than any other album in the last 10 years with an astounding 11 weeks at #1.  Taylor re-wrote the record books when her worldwide smash single, "Love Story," became the first ever Country crossover single to hit #1 on the Billboard and USA Today Top 40 airplay charts. Her follow-up single, “You Belong With Me,” repeated the same feat.

Big Machine Records was Billboard’s #1 Top Country Album Imprint of 2009, decorating it as the highest-selling record label group on Music Row.  In 4 short years, Big Machine Records has grown into the Big Machine Label Group, which includes sister labels The Valory Music Co. and Republic Nashville. The Big Machine Label Group¹s current artist roster includes Taylor Swift,
Reba McEntire, Jewel, Billboard¹s “New Country Artist of 2009” Justin Moore, Trisha Yearwood, Jack Ingram, Jimmy Wayne, Steel Magnolia, Eli Young Band, The Band Perry, Shel, Fast Ryde and Sunny Sweeney.

In 4 years, Big Machine Records artists have received 6 Country Music Association Awards, 6 American Music Awards, 4 GRAMMY Awards, 4 Academy of Country Music Awards, 4 CMT Music Awards, 3 Teen Choice Awards, 2 Nickelodeon Kids Choice Awards, 1 MTV Video Music Award, and 1 People¹s Choice Award, as well as 5 People¹s Choice Award nominations, 4 additional GRAMMY Award nominations, 1 BRIT Award and 1 JUNO Award nomination.
